Join this centenary salute to Tim Black, Bronzeville Baba, for his lifetime of extraordinary service to our community: teacher, soldier, civil rights leader, political activist, author, and social historian.

Banquet will feature the premiere performance of a musical composition by Robert “Baabe” Irving III, a native Chicagoan and outstanding jazz musician and composer. “Sound Pictures of a Century-The living Legacy of Timuel D. Black” will be premiered by an 18 piece orchestra featuring Dee Alexander and Maggie Brown at the gala.

Proceeds benefit the Vivian Harsh Society’s annual Timuel D. Black Research Fellowship and help establish the Timuel D. Black Education Foundation.
